The IX International Contest of Extra Virgin Olive Oil Domingo Faustino Sarmiento Award, which took place from September 3 to 6 in the City of San Juan, Argentina, has awarded several EVOOs from Spain, Argentina and Uruguay. The objective of this international event is to reward the best extra virgin olive oil in its different categories:
- Fruits Bitter Greens / Intense Spicy.
- Fruits Bitter Greens / Medium Spicy.
- Fruits Bitter Greens / Light Spicy.
- Ripe / Sweet Fruits.
Through the different activities that are carried out, we want to strengthen and promote the olive sector, and that is why it is the contest of oils with the largest number of foreign samples.
In this 9th edition, 79 samples of oils from Uruguay, Portugal, Spain, Greece and Argentina have been presented, being the largest number of participants in the nine years of the contest.
The sensory evaluation work has been carried out by the Tasting Panel of the Catholic University of Cuyo (UCCuyo), approved by the International Olive Council (IOC).
On this occasion our Picual Variety was in 2nd place in Group II Bitter Green Fruits / Medium Spicy.
Once again we continue to demonstrate the quality of our birds.
